Why we don’t recommend hair extensions pull ups?

While some may suggest pull-ups as a quick fix for hair extensions, we strongly advise against this method. Over time, as your natural hair sheds, the amount of hair holding your extensions decreases. This means that the remaining hair is not as strong, and the weight of the extensions is no longer evenly dispersed.

The Risks of Pull-Ups

  • Increased Scalp Pressure: Pulling up the ring and re-clamping only redistributes the weight onto a smaller section of hair, adding unnecessary strain on the scalp.

  • Excessive Shedding & Damage: The already weakened natural hair can shed even more, leading to potential damage to the hair follicle.

  • Risk of Hair Loss: Over time, the tension caused by an improperly supported extension can pull on the hair and scalp, increasing the likelihood of breakage and thinning.

The Proper Refit Process

nstead of pull-ups, we always recommend a full refit to maintain the health of your hair. During a refit, we:

  • Fully remove the extensions to ensure no excessive tension remains.

  • Brush out shed hair to prevent matting and tangling.

  • Re-section the hair for even distribution of weight.

  • Use all new application products to keep your extensions secure and your natural hair as healthy as possible.

Final Thoughts

To protect the integrity of your natural hair, it’s essential to avoid quick fixes like pull-ups. A proper refit ensures your extensions remain secure while minimizing scalp stress and preventing long-term damage.
